La culture op\u00e8re un conditionnement mental qui s\u2019exprime au travers de \u00ab\u00a0pr\u00e9f\u00e9rences culturelles\u00a0\u00bb ou encore appel\u00e9es \u00ab\u00a0orientations culturelles\u00a0\u00bb. <\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

Des chercheurs, essentiellement sociologues et psychologues, ont \u00e9tabli que les individus issus de diff\u00e9rentes cultures se distinguent de mani\u00e8re sp\u00e9cifique et pr\u00e9visible. Ces orientations correspondent aux comportements attendus et accept\u00e9s au sein d\u2019un groupe culturel et sont conceptualis\u00e9es au travers des dimensions culturelles.<\/span><\/p>\n

Les pays sont plac\u00e9s sur l\u2019axe allant de ceux ayant le plus de flexibilit\u00e9, en d\u2019autres mots qui valorisent davantage les relations personnelles que la montre, jusqu\u2019aux autres, pour qui l\u2019horaire pr\u00e9domine.<\/span><\/p>\n

La classification de l\u2019Allemagne \u00e0 l\u2019extr\u00e9mit\u00e9 de l\u2019\u00e9chelle, du c\u00f4t\u00e9 planifi\u00e9, montre que dans ce pays, \u00eatre ponctuel est un comportement attendu. En revanche, cela ne signifie pas que tous les Allemands soient ponctuels.<\/span><\/p>\n

Imaginons que Lothar soit un Allemand avec une s\u00e9rieuse tendance \u00e0 toujours arriver en retard. Pour son entourage ou ses coll\u00e8gues, Lothar sera per\u00e7u comme une exception : Lothar, on ne peut pas compter sur lui, il est toujours en retard\u00a0!<\/em> Par contre, il serait moins probable d\u2019entendre les coll\u00e8gues indiens de Lothar se plaindre de son manque de ponctualit\u00e9.<\/span><\/p>\n

L\u2019exemple ci-dessus illustre le fait que les dimensions culturelles rel\u00e8vent de g\u00e9n\u00e9ralisations qui concourent \u00e0 identifier et \u00e0 d\u00e9finir un registre des comportements attendus et admis au sein de ladite culture. Cependant, il ne faut pas perdre de vue que la personnalit\u00e9 prend le pas sur l\u2019orientation culturelle.<\/span><\/p>\n

Pour un Fran\u00e7ais, la libert\u00e9 d\u2019expression est plus importante que l\u2019harmonie du groupe. A contrario, un Japonais privil\u00e9gie l\u2019appartenance au groupe par rapport \u00e0 des consid\u00e9rations d\u2019ordre personnel.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Bien que les pays soient distribu\u00e9s le long d\u2019un axe lin\u00e9aire, les dimensions culturelles ne doivent pas pour autant \u00eatre per\u00e7ues en termes binaires. Une orientation culturelle divergente exprime tout simplement une hi\u00e9rarchisation diff\u00e9rente.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
